State Advocacy

The COS is your strongest ally and the only statewide association committed to effecting positive change for the orthopaedic community and patients.

COS is the voice of the orthopaedic community with policymakers, regulators, and insurers, advocating on issues that affect your patients, your practice, and orthopaedic medicine as a whole.

The COS is increasingly engaged with the Connecticut Legislature as the number of bills and regulations impacting orthopaedic surgeons continues to grow, affecting your ability to practice medicine and deliver high-quality care.

The Society works tirelessly to advance sensible health care reforms, protect physician interests, and ensure fair policies that support patient care. COS represents members in discussions with the Governor’s Office, Department of Insurance, Department of Public Health, and more on legislative, regulatory, and policy matters affecting orthopaedic practice.

It is essential for orthopaedic surgeons to actively support the COS legislative agenda and our lobbyist by building meaningful relationships with members of the Connecticut Legislature.

You can make a difference. By responding to Action Alerts from the Society regarding state legislation, insurance policy matters, and public health issues, you become a vital resource for legislators and government officials navigating health care decisions.
