MEMBERSHIP BENEFITSMembership Benefits | How to Join | MD Membership Application | MD Membership Renewal Dear Colleague, Your membership in the Connecticut Orthopaedic Society was vital to our collective success in 2012, including defeating the trial lawyers attempt to make detrimental changes change to the certificate of merit legislation that would have weakened the standards for expert testimony. In 2013, your Society will work on legislation to certify out of state witnesses in liability matters and require timely credentialing of physicians by insurers. On a federal level, the Society will be working with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons on such matters as repeal of the IPAB panel and a permanent fix to the Medicare SGR, slated to decrease physician reimbursement by 26% beginning in January 2013. We can’t do this alone. We need each of you to renew your dues, gather new colleagues to join and take an active part in the political and legislative process that impacts the future of your profession, your practice and your patients. Your ongoing support will be critical to our mission in 2013. Your continued involvement enables our Society to project a strong, unified voice in state and national issues. The COS is the ONLY in-state organization that has as its sole objective, the interests of the orthopaedic surgeon. In 2013, your Society will continue to work diligently on your behalf with the following activities and focus:
Your Society works diligently to be the collective representative for orthopaedists and their practice and we have been able to keep the dues for 2013 at $250.00, which includes admission to the Annual Meeting with CME credits, reduced rates for coding workshops, legislative and regulatory representation and much more. Please complete the online Membership Renewal form or download and mail dues with payment (for your convenience, we accept MasterCard or VISA). Thank you. Warm regards, Join the Connecticut Orthopaedic Society
